The Sorrell Foundation inspires creativity in young people and champions good design in public services. It jointly runs the Young Design Programme on an annual basis with art schools across the country.
Project brief: Facilitate participants of the University of the Arts London Young Design Programme to celebrate and communicate their achievements in a clear, creative and engaging way, improving young people's confidence, communication and presentation skills.
What we did:
Recruited and trained volunteers to work with client teams (school pupils aged between 11-18)
Facilitated creative development and experience-sharing workshops in schools
Enabled the pupils to devise unique performances and films with student volunteers
Rehearsed young people's performances
Gave interactive lectures for 100+ University students on presentation skills
Led one-to-one and group presentation workshops on planning, structure, development and presenting
Developed supporting online training resources
Rehearsed and gave feedback on University students' presentations
Ran training sessions for volunteers on working with young people
Mentored teams of student volunteers to lead sessions in schools
Produced and directed celebration events at Cochrane Theatre 2007, Tate Britain in 2008 & 09 for audiences of 300 people
Liaised and project managed between multiple stakeholders
