The National Union of Students represents the interests of more than seven million students through 600 member students' unions. It's mission is to promote, defend and extend the rights of students.

Project brief: Create a short film celebrating the life-time achievements of former NUS president Fred Jarvis for the NUS award ceremony to inspire an audience of elected officers and volunteers. Create a short film documenting and celebrating the FEstival featuring student officers from FE college across the country.

What we did:

Researched the history of NUS and the life of Fred Jarvis, President 1952-54

Conducted interviews with relevant colleagues and friends

Selected images from the NUS archive to relate Fred's personal story to that of the wider movement

Produced a film celebrating Fred's contribution and the early student movement

Produced a short film of the FEstival
